City of Belleair Beach - City Council

The City of Belleair Beach operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council is the legislative body of the City and is empowered by the charter to make policy which is then communicated to the City Manager for implementation.

The City Council is composed of a Mayor and six (6) council members who are elected at large on a non-partisan basis.

Council Meetings

Generally, the City Council meets on the first Monday of the month. These meetings begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Some variation in meeting dates may occur due to the holidays and other extenuating circumstances.

Council may hold special meetings and workshops when called for by the Mayor or by three council members. Notices of Council meetings are posted on the City marquee (located directly north of City Hall on Causeway Boulevard) and on the City’s website. Resident's are also welcome to call City Hall at 727.595.4646 to request information regarding meeting information.

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers located at 444 Causeway Boulevard. The public is encouraged to attend. For information regarding Council activities, please call the City Clerk at 727.595.4646 ext. 124.

Residents with cable TV access are also encouraged to view pre-recorded Council meetings on cable Channel 615 (also known as BBTV 615).

Resident may also view the prior City Council Meeting through streaming video.


Elections & Terms

City Council Seat elections are held on the second Tuesday in March of each year. The Mayor and six council members are elected for two-year with overlapping terms.
