“Protecting People and Locating the Lost”

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with SafetyNet, a program offered to families and caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease, autism, and other similar special needs. Due to the circumstances of their conditions, these individuals may have a tendency to wander away from home.

By enrolling in the SafetyNet program, clients are equipped with a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal. If the client wanders from home, caregivers can call 911 and trained search teams will be activated to locate the client. Rescue times average less than 30 minutes. SafetyNet helps ensure the safety and security of our most vulnerable citizens.
