North Pinellas: Irrigation and Landscaping Mini Expo offers homeowners tips and tools for better landscape
Feb. 23 event to provide homeowners do-it-yourself information
Pinellas County Utilities is hosting an Irrigation and Landscaping Mini Expo on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at The Centre, 1500 16th St., in Palm Harbor. The event is free and open to the public. Free refreshments will be provided, while supplies last.
The mini expo will offer participants one-on-one discussions with County experts and demonstrations about the best way to water lawns and plants, which plants are best for Florida landscapes, troubleshooting irrigation systems, how to clean a sprinkler system’s strainer and much more.

The goal of the mini expo is to teach homeowners about typical maintenance techniques for their irrigation systems, using reclaimed water in their landscape, choosing the correct plants for a successful and beautiful Florida landscape and to provide homeowners with the opportunity to ask County experts questions about their individual irrigation and landscaping situations.
Multiple free giveaways will be offered to help homeowners with their landscaping and irrigation needs, including rain gauges, re-usable landscaping and irrigation maintenance guides and tip sheets, while supplies last.
Other learning opportunities will include information about Pinellas County’s fertilizer ordinance, why it is necessary to protect Pinellas County’s watersheds, and ways to keep the yard green and mosquito-free during the summer months.
